Bump.com is a social network where people can connect through license plates. The company has recently raised over $1 million in a second round of funding. Although Bump.com CEO Mitch Thrower would not discuss how much the company had raised in the Series B-1 round, he did say that it was oversubscribed. This means that they had to turn down some investors.
Bump.com application users can take a picture of a license plate and send a message to the owner of the car. The owner of that car has to be registered with Bump.com. Bump.com plans to do some promotion at the Coachella music festival this April. They will track license plates as people enter the music fetial and deliver discounts to songs that are played by the bands at the event.
