LinkedIn Corp (NYSE:LNKD) chief executive officer Jeff Weiner has been named as the best CEO by Glassdoor. Glassdoor is a well-known career website that creates a list of the top 50 CEOs every year. Weiner has taken the throne from Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
Zuckerberg took the top spot last year from Apple CEO Tim Cook. Glassdoor bases the results on reviews submitted by employees between 02/01/2013 and 01/31/2014. LinkedIn was not on the list at all last year so this is quite a surge. Weiner received a 100% approval rating, but Zuckerberg saw a rating drop of 6% to 93%. This put him in 9th place overall.
Glassdoor cited quotes from a couple of anonymous LinkedIn employees:
1. ?Culture of complete transparency. Bi-weekly company all-hands with the CEO.?
2. ?Colleagues are top notch as developers, collaborators, and acquaintances. Leadership is excellent. Perks are amazing.?
Of the 50 CEOs listed, only 26 this year were on Glassdoor’s report last year.
Below is an infographic of the top 50:
?We find on Glassdoor that a strong leader is often one who has the ability to clearly communicate the vision for the company and who helps employees see how their work connects to the big picture,? stated Glassdoor CEO and co-founder Robert Hohman. ?In addition, top rated CEOs are commonly seen as relatable, accessible and transparent.?
