LinkedIn Corp (NYSE:LNKD) has expand their publishing platform to let all of their users write and share posts to their LinkedIn profile. LinkedIn launched the Influencer program for a limited group of people a while ago. The posts do well as they generate an average of 31,000 views and about 80 comments on average.
Now the Influencer program is being extended to LinkedIn’s 277 million monthly active users. LinkedIn users have always been able to share links to third-party blogs, but the long form publishing tool was limited to a smaller group of people. You can edit the posts by clicking on the small pencil icon to the right of the Share Box when signed into LinkedIn.
The pencil icon opens up a compose screen to edit fonts, sizes, links, and titles. After the article is published, it will be available to users as part of the publisher’s public profile. Higher quality content will be pushed to relevant audiences.
Linked also added over 50 new names to the Influencer list on Wednesday, which brings the total to around 500 Influencers. This includes Morgan Stanley CEO James Gorman, Pfizer CEO Ian Read, and Summly founder Nick D’Aloisio.
