Today LinkedIn Corp (NYSE:LNKD) announced a redesign of its user profile pages for premium subscribers. The pages seem to have taken a few design cues from Facebook and Twitter. The redesign includes a larger profile picture and customizable header image that runs across the length of the profile. The redesign is currently only available to LinkedIn’s premium users. The new design will be rolled out to free users in the next few months.
LinkedIn also launched a larger suite of tools for premium users, which includes the ability to see how they are found in search results. These users can select keywords for their profile with the hopes to show up more frequently in searches.
Premium users can make their accounts open and enable other users to message them. They can also make their profile public to everyone. This used to be an opt-in feature, but it is now a standard feature on premium accounts.
