littleBits Raises $11.1 Million

littleBits is a New York based open hardware startup that has developed electronic Bits modules that can snap together for prototyping all sorts of products.  littleBits has raised $11.1 million in funding.

This round of funding was led by True Ventures and Foundry Group. New investors Two Sigma Ventures and Vegas Tech Fund and existing investors Khosla Ventures, Mena Ventures, Neoteny Labs, O’Reilly AlphaTech, and Lerer Ventures also participated in this round.

littleBits has raised $3.65 million in Series A and $850,000 in seed funding.  This means that littleBits has raised a total of $15 million.  littleBits was developed to inspire innovation in hardware.

littleBits users enables people to create circuits in seconds without having to solder, program, or wire parts together.
