The Ladies Professional Golf Association is the American organization made for female pro golfers. Unfortunately for the LPGA, the ratings are low. Commissioner Carolyn Bivens suggested to the female golfers that they should consider using social media tools to get people interested in the tour again. She even encouraged golfers to tweet while they play. Golfer Paula Creamer did not like the Commissioner’s idea as a way to get attention.
?I will not be twittering in my round,? wrote Creamer on her Twitter account. ?It should not happen in any sport. The players have already told the tour no way.? There are over 30 golfers in the LPGA that use Twitter.
How did Bivens come up with the idea to tweet during games for attention? Dwight Howard thanked his Twitter fans on his win. Mark Cuban was fined for dissing the referee in a game. And Milwaukee Bucks player Charlie Villanueva was told not to tweet during games.
Another pro female golfer Morgan Pressel had a similar to Creamer about live tweeting during games. ?Thanks for the luck and NO I will not be tweeting while I play???
