Mailbox is a mobile e-mail application that has been acquired by Dropbox this month. Although the acquisition price was unknown, rumor has it that it was for as much as $100 million. Mailbox has been in high demand to the point where they had to setup a reservation system to slowly allow people to use it so that they can scale up. Now Mailbox has hit their 1 millionth reservation.
Personally I tried signing up for the service about a month ago and there are still over 79,000 people in front of me waiting. Mailbox did say that the line is getting faster every day. Mailbox updated the app a few hours ago with a new feature called “shake to undo.” The update also includes user interface enhancements and bug fixes.
