Matt Mullenweg has become the CEO of the company that he founded, Automattic. Automattic is best known as the parent company of WordPress. Mullenweg is taking over the position from Toni Schneider. Schneider has been CEO of Automattic for over eight years. WordPress currently powers around 21% of websites today. Schneider will continue to work at Automattic and will take on the same role that Mullenweg is leaving, which is product-building. Mullenweg has a lot of experience as the CEO because Schneider took a sabbatical from that role last year.
