Intel’s McAfee announced the 2014 product line of their consumer antivirus software today. All of their software is available for download and retail purchases starting today.
Here are the costs:
– McAfee AntiVirus Plus 2014 – $34.99 for one year of protection for one PC.
– McAfee Internet Security 2014 – $55.99 for use on up to three computers
– McAfee Total Protection 2014 – $89.99 for use on up to three computers.
McAfee also updated the LiveSafe cross-platform security product.
These products use McAfee’s AM Core scanning engine for detecting viruses, malware, and Trojan horses. McAfee said that the new software claims to have faster scanning performance in the AM core also. The products also include McAfee Vulnerability Scanner to find patches or updates.
The McAfee Shredder comes with all three products and offers a tool that completely deletes files and makes them unrecoverable. The products includes a two-way firewall and network security. Internet Security 2014 and Total Protection 2014 has parental controls including usage reports, website blocking, and activity monitoring. Total Protection 2014 has file encryption and wireless network security.
