MediaSpike is a service that provides a native monetization platform for applications with a focus on social and mobile games. MediaSpike’s SDKs interacts with their backend. Brands and agencies can search by various parameters for appropriate placements through their dashboard. MediaSpike has raised $5.2 million in a first round of funding.
Existing investor CMEA Capital led the Series A round. Existing investors 500 Startups, Google Ventures, and Raptor Capital also participated. The new investors were Andreessen Horowitz, Inspovation Ventures, and several angel investors. Saad Khan of CMEA Capital will be joining MediaSpike’s board of directors.
MediaSpike hits over 20 million monthly unique users through their ad business. Their business places product ads inside mobile and social games. This past June, MediaSpike was hitting around 1 million monthly uniques.
MediaSpike will be using the funding to hire more employees in New York and Silicon Valley. MediaSpike currently has 9 full-time employees and two part-time employees.
