Wedbush Securities Michael Pachter was interviewed by Bloomberg West today about his thoughts on Facebook and Mark Zuckerberg. Pachter criticized Zuckerberg for not showing investors respect by wearing a hoodie during a roadshow. Pachter also said that he does not think Zuckerberg would be fit for running a major company and answering to shareholders.
?Mark and his signature hoodie: He?s actually showing investors he doesn?t care that much; he?s going to be him,? said Pachter in the interview. ?I think that?s a mark of immaturity. I think that he has to realize he?s bringing investors in as a new constituency right now, and I think he?s got to show them the respect that they deserve because he?s asking them for their money.?
I believe Pachter is simply judging a book by its cover. Zuckerberg has already disrupted the world and just because he is not catering his wardrobe to New York fat cats, it does not mean that he is not being professional. Mark is being himself — if this wardrobe makes him more comfortable during meetings, so be it.
