Microsoft Acquires 3-D Sensing Technology Company Canesta

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has made a definitive agreement to acquire Canesta, Inc. Canesta will transfer their products, technology, I.P., customer contracts, and other resources to Microsoft. Canesta makes 3-D sensing technology for developing Natural User Interfaces (NUI).

Canesta has 44 patents and dozens more being filed. One of the patents include CMOS 3-D sensing pixels and signal processing algorithms.
