Microsoft and Boingo have partnered to provide consumers with free WiFi as part of the Windows 8 launch. Microsoft and Boingo will be delivering complimentary wireless networking in New York City and San Francisco starting now and lasting through the end of 2012.
The free WiFi will be at six subway stations in New York and in popular areas of San Francisco. This network will grow larger starting November 1st when Boingo opens up access to over 200 WiFi “hotzones” in New York City. You will be able to access the free WiFi on your laptop, iOS device, Android device, or Windows Phone device.
Microsoft is hoping that the free networking will encourage consumers to browse the Windows Store for Windows 8, which will be released on October 26th.
