Posted May 23, 2013

Microsoft Corporation has announced two new mice:  the Sculpt Mobile Mouse and the Sculpt Comfort Mouse.  This is the first time that Microsoft created a mouse with a button dedicated to bringing up the Windows 8 Start menu.  You can also use the mouse to return to the desktop without having to use the keyboard.

The Mobile Mouse has just a start key and scroll wheel whereas the Comfort Mouse has a button that works as a capacitive surface to toggle through open programs in Windows 8.  Swiping the strip in the other direction brings up a list of open apps on the left side of the screen.  The Mobile Mouse uses a dongle and the Comfort Mouse uses Bluetooth.

The Mobile version of the mouse will be available at a price of $29.95 and the Comfort Version will cost $39.95.  The Mobile version is available now, but the Comfort model isn’t coming till June.
