Microsoft brings Office to the iPad

Microsoft has finally launched Microsoft Office for the iPad. Microsoft Office will be utilizing a freemium business model. Microsoft will provide reading and presentation features for free in the new iPad app. People that have Office 365 subscriptions will have full access to the Microsoft Office suite for the iPad. Microsoft also launched an Enterprise Mobility Suite for IT to manage devices that are using Office.

“We know you?ve been wanting it, and starting today, you can download Word, Excel and PowerPoint for iPad from the App Store.  The apps have the robust capabilities and familiar look and feel that is unmistakably Office, while offering a fantastic touch experience built from the ground up for iPad.  With the free versions of the apps, you can read your Word documents, view your Excel data and present with PowerPoint,” said Microsoft in a blog post.

Office for iPad requires iOS 7.0 or later. Currently, Office for iPad is supported in 29 languages.
