Microsoft Corporation launches Windows 8.1 update

Microsoft Corporation has announced an upgrade to Windows 8.1 today at the Build developer conference in San Francisco. The Update to Windows 8.1 comes five months after the last major upgrade. The Windows 8 Update 1 will be rolled out starting April 8th. Windows 8.1 Update 1 will have a booting upgrade — if your device is not touch-focused, the desktop mode will be booted up. The update also has the ability to pin Metro apps to the desktop task bar.
