Microsoft Corporation (MSFT) may rename Nokia following closing of acquisition

According to a leaked letter, Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) may rename Nokia to Microsoft Mobile after the acquisition closes on Friday. This decision is not official and Nokia could be called something entirely different.

“Upon the close of the transaction between Microsoft and Nokia, the name of Nokia Corporation will change to Microsoft Mobile,” said the leaked document.

Microsoft is buying the right to use the Nokia brand name on smartphones, but Nokia could continue to market Here Maps and sell network equipment under its own name.
