Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) is going to launch DirectX 12 on March 20th at the Game Developers Conference on March 20th at 10AM PST. The presentation is called ‘DirectX: Evolving Microsoft’s Graphics Platform’ and it will be led by graphics development manager Anju Gosalia.
“You asked us to bring you even closer to the metal and to do so on an unparalleled assortment of hardware,” states the description of the presentation. “You also asked us for better tools so that you can squeeze every last drop of performance out of your PC, tablet, phone, and console.”
The DirectX 12 platform is Microsoft’s first major update of the API since DirectX 11 was launched in 2008.
