Microsoft Corporation (MSFT) to spend $1.1B on data center in Iowa

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) is spending $1.126 billion on a data center in West Des Moines, Iowa. The data center will likely be used for powering Microsoft’s Azure cloud service and the Cortana virtual assistant for mobile devices. The new data center campus will be built on a 154-acre lot over the next four to five years, according to the Quad-City Times.
