Microsoft Corporation has increased the price of Microsoft Office for Mac. Office for Mac Home and Students costs $140 now, which is a 17% increase from the original price of $120. Office for Mac Home and Business costs $220, which is a 10% increase of the original $200 price. Essentially this means that Office for Mac now costs the same as Office 2013 for Windows.
The company also got rid of multi-license products. For $99 per year or $9.99 per month, you can subscribe to Office 365 for families and install Office on up to 5 devices. Through the subscription, users will get the installation software for Office for Mac Home and Business. Windows users will get the installation files for Office 2013.
According to ComputerWorld, the price increase was probably applied on January 29th when Microsoft launched Office 2013 and Office 365. If you want to buy Office for Mac at the lower prices, you can buy Office for Mac 2011 at the original price from retailers like Apple.
