Microsoft India Chairman Ravi Venkatesan Stepping Down, Writing A Book About Outsourcing

Posted Feb 10, 2011

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) India Chairman Ravi Venkatesan is stepping down from the company after 7 years of working there. Venkatesan said it was time for him to move on and he is planning on taking a sabbatical for a few months to work on a book. The book will be about why multinational companies built large business divisions in India.

“It’s not an easy decision,” Mr. Venkatesan said. “It’s a great company. When you create something starting from scratch, I realized my whole identity is wrapped up with it. But seven years ago we had set various objectives in financials and image and reputation and it was clear by the summer that we were close to achieving those.”
