Microsoft Is Disappointed About Windows 8 Sales, But OEMs Say Not To Blame Them

Posted Dec 2, 2012

Windows 8 was released last month and around 40 million licenses were sold.  However there is a report that the results have been below what the company was projecting.  This was covered by saying that Windows 8 upgrades are outpacing Windows 7.

Microsoft is supposedly blaming manufacturers for poor adoption of Windows 8 and their “inability to deliver.”

Toshiba VP head of America Jeff Barney said “To be frank, the OEM community will bring better form factors to market. This first generation is a rush to get there in the beginning. They are not as commercially viable as they are media viable. Over time you will see a lot more commercially viable products that take advantage of Windows 8.”
