Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) is rumored to be announcing an Apple TV and Google TV competitor at the Consumer Electronics Show this week. Microsoft is said to be developing an operating system for set-top boxes and Internet-enabled TVs. “The software is a version of its embedded device software, overlaid with the Windows Media Center interface, with media streaming and remote-control capabilities,” according to Brier Dudley of the Seattle Times. “The boxes are expected to cost around $200 and go on sale later this year.”
