Microsoft said that the upcoming Xbox One console will have the ability to play used games. Gamers and video game retailers like GameStop was worried about the Xbox One policy on used games. GameStop’s business thrives on the sale of used games. Video game disc users will not be limited to just one Xbox One device. Players can share or trade in the games they have bought for other used games as they have been able to do.
“Today, some gamers choose to sell their old disc-based games back for cash and credit. We designed Xbox One so game publishers can enable you to trade in your games at participating retailers. Microsoft does not charge a platform fee to retailers, publishers, or consumers for enabling transfer of these games,” said Microsoft in a blog post.
Microsoft also said that the Xbox One will need to be connected online at least once every 24 hours to work. Microsoft said that they will not charge a platform fee to retailers, publishers, or consumers for enabling the transfer of games.
