Microsoft Surface RT Tablet Sells Out At Walmart Following Price Cut

Posted Jul 30, 2013

Despite a massive marketing blitz, the Microsoft Surface RT tablet powered by Windows 8, saw an underwhelming amount of sales.  The company had to write $900 million worth of inventory and Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer acknowledged that they built too many.

Microsoft reduced the price of the tablet by about $150.  The price cut definitely helped in terms of selling the device because Walmart has sold out of their Microsoft Surface RT inventory.

Walmart is expected to get more Microsoft Surface RT tablets later this week, according to UberGizmo.
