Microsoft Corporation has announced a new service called ViralSearch at the company’s annual TechFest event. Microsoft ViralSearch examines around a billion information cascades across Twitter. ViralSearch can track news, videos, and photos to determine exactly how the content was shared and it’s rate of how fast it is going viral. ViralSearch showcases the data in a timeline of events to make it easy to see when a piece of viral content peaks. Microsoft is not planning on making this a full product yet, but they are looking into how this data can be used internally for their own product teams.
