Mitch Hurwitz, the creator of Arrested Development, is ready to make either a movie or a fifth season of the show. Netflix is on board so now it is up to the cast. During a Q&A at the Just For Laughs comedy conference in Montreal this past week, Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos asked Hurwitz “Are we going to do more?” Hurwitz responded by saying “definitely.” Netflix funded the fourth season of the show and hosts it exclusively.
Hurwitz went on to say that maybe they will do a movie first and then another season or maybe just another season. He also said that maybe they will do a special three-part episode before continuing the series. When Hurwitz asked the Netflix exec if those possibilities work, he said “absolutely” to “any form,” according to The Verge.
Netflix received Emmy nominations for the shows House of Cards and Arrested Development. Netflix also saw a subscriber bump after releasing these shows exclusively.
