Chad Hurley, the co-founder of YouTube, has revealed a few details about a new video website that he is launching called MixBit. While referring to an April Fools joke by Google about YouTube shutting down, Hurley tweeted this:
The website did not reveal what MixBit will actually do, but it indicates that the service will help creating videos through collaboration. At SXSW, Hurley said that the new service would not be a direct competitor of YouTube. The domain name MixBit.com was bought last month for a price of $2,095 according to TheDomains.com. The service is expected to fully launch later this month.
