Motorola Has Dropped Moto X Price To $99

Motorola has dropped the price of the Moto X smartphone to $99.  However, the orders must be placed through the Motorola Moto Maker and they must agree to a two-year contract.  Motorola also said that existing Moto X owners might be eligible for a $100 rebate, which will be given in the form of a Verizon Wireless gift card, Motorola Visa Prepaid gift card, carrier credit, or other equivalent.

The Moto X is available on all of the major U.S. carriers and U.S. Cellular.  However, AT&T customers are the only ones that can customize the phone with different colors and accents.  Verizon is expected to get this feature next year.

Motorola launched the Moto X on August 1st for a cost of $199.99.  The Moto X has a 4.7-inch display, 1280×720 resolution (316 pip), and Android 4.2.2.  It also has a Motorola X8 mobile computing system with a 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro.

The Moto X is being built in Fort Worth, Texas.  U.S. buyers could have the device arrive on their door step within 4 days of making the order.
