Motorola releases a new, larger Moto G

Posted Sep 6, 2014

Motorola has launched a new version of the Moto G device, which has a larger display and improved cameras. The Moto G is available today in the U.K. and U.S. Motorola does not put a custom user interface on the Moto G, which means that software updates are sent to users quicker. The Moto G runs on Android 4.4 KitKat. It can be upgraded to Android L when it is released.

The Moto G has a 5-inch 720p HD display, 1.2 quad-core processor, 8GB or 16GB storage, Moto Alert, and Moto Assist. The new Moto G has microSD card support with up to 32GB of expanded storage. The front-facing camera is 2 megapixels and the rear camera is 8 megapixels. Unfortunately, there is no 4G support in the Moto G. The new Moto G will have single and dual-SIM models.

The Moto G has different colored shells and cases that are sold separately. Motorola said in the past that the Moto G is the best selling smartphone ever. The new Moto G costs $180 in the U.S. and £145 in the U.K.
