Firefox 25 Has A Guest Browsing Mode

Mozilla has launched version 25 of the Firefox for Windows, OS X, Linux, and Android.  Some of the new features includes a guest browsing mode, mixed content blocking on Android, new CSS3 features, and Web Audio API support.

The new guest browsing mode lets you share your phone or tablet with a friend without worrying about them looking at your history, bookmarks, passwords, and other data.  This feature is activated by tapping on the “New Guest Session” button.  Firefox shows a clean profile and their information will be wiped after closing the browser window.  This is great for your friends and family that borrows your phone or tablet.

On the Android version of Firefox, there is mixed content blocking, which means that Firefox blocks man-in-middle attacks and eavesdroppers on HTTPS pages.  Mixed content blocking has the ability to take any image in the browser and turns it into a wallpaper for your device or add it as a photo to a contact.

This version of Firefox has some new CSS3 features and the Contacts API.  Developers can write add-ons for the Android version that adds indicators to the URL bar.

Firefox now supports the Web Audio API on all platforms.  This makes it possible to manipulate audio in the browser in ways that were not possible in the past.  This feature is especially useful for developers that want to write browser-based games.
