The mugshot of a man in Northern California has gone viral. Jeremy Meeks, 30, is a convicted felon that was arrested on felony weapons charges. His mugshot went viral on Facebook with over 86,000 “likes,” 23,000 comments, and 11,000 shares. He was praised for having high cheek bones, a chiseled face, and sharp blue eyes.

Meeks was arrested this past Wednesday on five weapons charges and one gang charge, according to Stockton Police Department officer Joseph Silva. Officer Silva said he has not seen that many likes for a photo before.

Meeks was one out of four men brought into custody during Operation Ceasefire, which was a multiagency mission to curb an increase in shootings and robberies in the Weston Ranch area of Stockton.

Four firearms were taken during a sweep on Wednesday, which involved the Stockton police gang unit, the FBI, the U.S. Marshals Task Force and several other agencies.

Meeks is one of the “most violent criminals in the Stockton area.” Meeks is being held with a $900,000 bail and was scheduled to be arraigned yesterday.
