National Geographic has announced a partnership with location-based social gaming company SCVNGR. National Geographic will be putting challenges and treks built into SCVNGR across multiple several of their branded properties. The properties include the National Geographic Channel, National Geographic Maps, National Geographic Museum and Kids Entertainment groups.
SCVNGR’s first partnership use will take place at the National Geographic Museum exhibition “Geckos: Tails to Toepads” that is open between now and January 5, 2011. SCVNGR users also will notice the partnership at the National Geographic Entertainment’s World Animal Day celebrations on October 16.
