Netflix, Inc. (NFLX) gets Trailer Park Boys exclusive for 2 more seasons

Posted Mar 7, 2014

Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX) has renewed Trailer Park Boys for two more seasons. The show will be exclusive to Netflix. Trailer Park Boys originally ended after seven seasons in 2007, but ten new episodes will be coming to Netflix before the end of 2014 along with the previous seasons of the show.

Netflix will add three standalone specials (Community Service Special, Swearnet Special, Trailer Park Boys Xmas) and two full-length films. The deal includes all of Netflix’s current markets.

The stars of the show: Robb Wells, John Paul Tremblay, and Mike Smith bought the rights to the show from the original producers and worked on bringing the show online since then.

“There’s no other trio quite like Julian, Ricky and Bubbles, and we’re thrilled to be the new home for these beloved hellraisers,” stated Sean Carey, Netflix’s VP of content acquisition.

Trailer Park Boys is a show about a group of residents that live at the Sunnyvale Trailer Park in Nova Scotia. The show is filmed in a mocumentary style similar to how The Office and Parks and Recreation are done.
