Posted May 8, 2013

NetSuite is an ERP software suite company that has acquired OrderMotion.  Based in Burlington, Massachusetts, OrderMotion has a Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) Order Management platform that will be integrated into NetSuite’s cloud-based order management system.  The terms of the acquisition was undisclosed.

?Sophisticated order management is paramount to the omnichannel commerce experience. With the addition of OrderMotion, NetSuite further solidifies its position as the leading provider of cloud-based order management solutions. With NetSuite and OrderMotion, organizations have access to the complete order management capabilities they just can?t get anywhere else,? stated Netsuite’s General Manager of Commerce Andy Lloyd.

OrderMotion’s management solutions are generally used in conjunction with front-end tools like Demandware and Magento by top e-commerce companies.  NetSuite will use OrderMotion’s technology and direct response programs to augment their existing order management systems.  This is becoming especially important because of the demand for services like the ability to pick up products in a store after shopping online while also fulfilling web orders from retail stores.

NetSuite’s Order Management System makes order execution a seamless experience regardless of where an order originated from or where it will go.  NetSuite can also handled multiple location fulfillment and return merchandise authorization (RMA).  Other features in the OMS include payment capture, refunds, recurring billing, and invoiced billing.
