New “Arrested Development” Season Launching On May 26

Posted Apr 4, 2013

I’m looking forward to hearing the intro to Arrested Development again, “now the story of a wealthy family who lost everything and the one son who had no choice, but to keep them altogether.”  The fourth season of “Arrested Development” is launching exclusively on Netflix starting May 26th.

The 15 episodes of Arrested Development are launching at 12:01AM PST on May 26th everywhere that Netflix is available.  Initially 14 episodes were going to be added, but Netflix revealed that one more episode has been added.

The creator of Arrested Development, Mitch Hurwitz, signed the deal with Netflix to launch a new season of the show in late 2011.

“‘Arrested Development’ is now widely viewed as one of the top TV comedies of all time and Mitch Hurwitz is bringing it to Netflix in a brand new way, crafted for the on-demand generation that has come to discover the show in the years since it last appeared on TV,” stated Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos. “The highly anticipated return of this show is sure to make history all over again.”

Arrested Development debuted on FOX 10 years ago, but was cancelled in 2006.  The first three seasons of the show were extremely popular on Netflix.  This is why Netflix brought the show back to life.
