The next generation of iPads are rumored to be available in the next 3-4 months. OEMs and suppliers have started reducing parts for the iPad 2 and focused on the new tablet according to sources with DigiTimes. OEM’s are still expected to manufacture at least another 14-15 million units of the iPad 2 in Q4 2011, but it will decline to 4-5 million in Q1 2012.
Foxconn will start producing the next generation of iPads in January. The production of the new iPads are expected to hit 9.5-9.8 million units in Q1 2012 according to supply chain sources. The sales of the iPad hit about 25.06 million in the first three quarters of 2011 and is likely to hit 40 million by the end of the year.
