Twitter has created a new version of Twitter for iPad. Twitter recreated the app from the ground up. The Twitter for iPad app lets you see expanded tweets with a single touch to see photos, videos, and web page summaries from the timeline. There is also a full-screen mode built into the new app.
The app lets you track who has followed, retweeted, favorited or mentioned you on Twitter. The app lets you track what topics are trending and it suggests people for you to follow.
Today Twitter has launched a new feature that lets you added a beautiful new header photo to your profile similar to the Facebook Timeline cover photo feature. The new Twitter iPad lets you change your header photo as well.
Unfortunately for third party Twitter photo partners, the company is rumored to be ending their partnerships with them according to sources with Buzzfeed. Users can currently include photos in their tweets that are hosted by Twitter’s own photo service and third-party websites like Twitpic and YFrog. However Twitter has contacted companies that will be impacted by the photo changes.
?They?re trying to control those eyeballs on their apps; they?re an ad-based company, they make money that way,? said Twitpic founder Noah Everett. Twitter recently announced version 1.1 of its API earlier this month, which ends support for RSS, XML, and Atom.
