Nielsen Is Acquiring Harris Interactive For $116.6M

Nielsen is acquiring market research company Harris Interactive for around $116.6 million.  Nielsen, the consumer research and TV ratings firm said that Harris Interactive will help them provide insights to customers.

Harris Interactive said that Nielsen agreed to pay $2 per share, but this price may change.  The per-share amount is 4% below Harris’ $2.08 closing share price from Friday.

Harris Interactive CEO Al Angrisani said that the company chose the Nielsen transaction after reviewing several strategic options that started earlier this year.  Harris Interactive’s board approved of the deal unanimously.
