Nikon Is Paying Microsoft For Android-Related Patents

Posted Feb 22, 2013

Microsoft owns several patents that they have been using against anyone that produces a device with Android built in.  They have gone after companies like Aluratek, Coby, HTC, LG, Samsung, TomTom, Sharp, Honeywell, General Dynamics, Amazon, Buffalo, Compal, and Velocity Micro.  Nikon has signed a similar deal with Microsoft this week for cameras that run on Android.  This product likely involves the Nikon Coolpix S800c and future Android-powered cameras.
