Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. (TYO:7201) will be expanding their global EV product line to five models. The company was originally planning on building three electric models, which include the Nissan Leaf, a luxury Infiniti sedan version of the Leaf, and an electric version of the compact cargo van NV200.
Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. (TYO:7201) did not say when the additional models will be launched. “We haven’t announced what models they will be, but we have plans for five,” stated Nissan Americas senior vice president Carla Bailo. “The others will come in due time.”
The future Nissan EVs will use inductive charging, which will allow the batteries to charge wirelessly. The EV owner would need to drive on top of a charging mat to recharge a battery without hooking it up to a connector.
