Nix Hydra raises $5.6 million in funding

Nix Hydra is a Los Angeles based software entertainment company that has raised $5 million in funding from Foundry Group. Nix Hydra is known for making fun and interactive product for young women. Nix Hydra has raised a total of $5.6 million in funding. Mike Lazerow (Buddy Media CEO and co-founder), Matt Britton (MRY CEO and co-founder), Vinny Lingham (Gyft CEO and co-founder), Brad Schwartz (Riot Games investor), and several others also participated.

Nix Hydra was launched by Lina Chen and Naomi Ladizinsky in 2012. Some of its apps include Egg Baby and Hot Guy Alarm Clock. Egg Baby is a virtual pet egg game that hatches into gift-giving creatures depending on how the egg is treated. Egg Baby was downloaded around 9 million times without marketing and saw an average of 4.5/5 from around 108,000 reviews for the game.

This Series A round of funding will help Nix Hydra further develop the Egg Baby franchise and expand into international markets.
