Nokia Releasing Symbian-Powered Astound Phone In The U.S.

Nokia has announced today that they are introducing the Astound phone in the United States. The Astound is a lower end smartphone that runs on the Symbian operating system. The device has a 620 megahertz processor and 300 megabytes of memory.

Nokia is introducing this lower end device for those who want a not-too-expensive transition into a smartphone. It uses Symbian 3 and has several pre-loaded apps like Slacker Radio. The Astound can download apps from the Ovi app store.

The cost of the Astound is $79.99 with a $10 data plan which gives users 250MB of data each month. The phone also has a 8 megapixel camera that can record HD video. It also has an SD card slot that can host up to a 40GB card. This device is exclusive to T-Mobile.
