Nir Rosen is a journalist that is focused on politics and war. He had spent more than two years in Iraq to monitor the relationship between the Americans and Iraqis. Rosen has resigned from a fellowship position at the New York University Center On Law and Security after writing a few crude comments about CBS chief foreign correspondent Lara Logan.
Logan was covering the celebrations at Tahrir Square for 60 Minutes on February 11th. Logan was separated from her crew and suffered from a ?brutal and sustained sexual assault and beating.” That is when Rosen decided to criticize Logan in some tweets.
“Lara Logan had to outdo Anderson. Where was her buddy McCrystal,? tweeted Rosen. Rosen was referring to when Anderson Cooper was beat in Cairo at the beginning of the month. ?I?m rolling my eyes at all the attention she?ll get.? Twitter users were not too thrilled to hear Rosen’s opinion on the situation and started debating with him about it.
?Yes yes its wrong what happened to her. Of course. I don?t support that. But, it would have been funny if it happened to Anderson too,? wrote Rosen. Really, Rosen? It would have been funny if Anderson Cooper was sexually assaulted and beaten up? Rosen tweeted an apology and resigned from his fellowship position.
