OEMs Preparing To Debut Chrome Smartbooks In November

DigiTimes is reporting that global brand vendors are preparing to launch a new generation of notebooks that use the Google Chrome operating system later in November. Google is also planning to launch their own Google Chrome based notebook.

The Google Chrome notebook is expected to be manufactured by Inventec with initial shipments of 60,000-70,000 units. The Google Chrome notebook will have an ARM-based platform and they will not be selling through retail stores initially. Acer and HP will both be launching Chrome products in December. Quanta Computer will be manufacturing Chrome products as well.
