Office 365 Home Premium Hits 1 Million Subscribers

Posted May 29, 2013

Office 365 Home Premium has surpassed one million subscribers in slightly over 100 days.  Microsoft’s Office 365 Home Premium software costs $9.99 per month or $99.99 per year.  Microsoft calls Office 365 Home Premium the “best-selling Office edition yet.”

Over one copy is sold “every second on average” since Office 365 Home Premium launched this year.  The Office 365 Home Premium subscriber count is much lower than the overall sales of Microsoft Office including enterprise licenses. Regardless, this means that consumers are willing to pay to use Microsoft Office in the cloud.

“Office exists to help people get things done, and people tell us they are choosing the service because it delivers full Office, it keeps them always up-to-date and it’s a fantastic value,”  stated John Case, the corporate vice president of marketing for the Microsoft Office Division on the Office blog.
