A 110-foot yacht was destroyed by a fire near San Diego on Thursday. A drone captured footage of the fire. The name of the yacht was “Polar Bear.” It caught on fire at around 9:15AM while in dry dock after workers doing some welding on board sparked the blaze.
?Am I angry? No. Anger is not the right word,? stated owner Larry Jodsass in an interview with NBC 7. ?It was my toy, my wonderful, beautiful piece of equipment. I think it?s the most beautiful boat that ever has been built.? Jodsass is the former chairman of a successful semiconductor company in Minnesota.
Firefighters tried to contain the blaze, but it was difficult since yachts were designed to keep water out.
Boat captain Kurt Roll captured the footage using a DJI quadcopter with a GoPro camera.
