YCharts is an online financial terminal company that has offices in Chicago and New York. The company recently announced that they have raised $3.875 million in a third round of funding. This round of funding was led by Morningstar and Reed Elsevier Ventures.
There was also participation from early investors in the company including Hyde Park Angels, Amicus Capital, and I2A. YCharts has raised a total of $8.625 million. YCharts was founded by former Google executive Shawn Carpenter (CEO) and former lead developer at Tribune Co. Ara Anjargolian (CTO).
YCharts computes over 2,000 metrics for every stock in its their database. The company also looks at over 350,000 economic indicators from around the world, according to TechCrunch. YCharts gets data points from public sources. YCharts shows you information about a company’s sales, their performance over a period of time, and income / expenses. The company focuses on data over the past 10 years.
YCharts has over 1 million monthly users and they are becoming the choice of professions that are looking for sophisticated financial information. The company will use the funding for growing aggressively in their institutional business.
YCharts sells two plans:
1.) $49 per month for basic plan
2.) $199 per month for users that want to export data, use an Excel plugin for importing YCharts, and data verification.
