Oracle Corporation has acquired Tekelec, a company that has created intelligent mobile broadband solutions that enables service providers to manage and monetize mobile data and evolve to LTE. Tekelec provides networking signaling and subscriber data management for their clients.
Tekelec is used by over 300 service providers in over 100 countries. Oracle said that Tekelec’s network signaling services complement their operational support systems, service delivery platforms, and business support systems.
“As connected devices and applications become ubiquitous, intelligent network and service control technologies are required to enable service providers to efficiently deploy all-IP networks, and deliver and monetize innovative communication services,” stated Oracle Communications SVP and general manager Bhaskar Gorti. “The combination of Oracle and Tekelec will provide service providers with the most complete solution to manage their businesses across customer engagement, business and network operations, service delivery, and end-user applications.”
Some of Oracle’s recent acquisitions include Acme Packet for $2.1 billion, Eloqua for $871 million, and Instantis.
