Cloud storage company ownCloud raises $4.4 million in funding

ownCloud is a cloud storage company that has raised $4.4 million out of a proposed $7 million round, according to a filing made with the Securities & Exchange Commission. ownCloud competes with large cloud storage companies like Box and Dropbox. ownCloud raised $820,000 in a first funding round two years ago and another $2.5 million last year. General Catalyst Partners participated in both of the earlier rounds and is in for this round too.
